Arrest made in Heroin trafficking case

At approximately 2:00 pm on 3/12/2013 Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force Agents and Vienna Police Department Officers executed an arrest warrant at 506 34th St. Apartment 4 in Vienna.  Jonathan E. Valentine, 33, was arrested for delivery of heroin.  The Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force had been investigating Valentine for trafficking heroin in the Vienna/Parkersburg area since 2012.  Valentine faces one (1) to fifteen (15) years in prison if convicted of the offense.   Jonathan Valentine was consequently transported to the Wood County Holding Facility for booking and then was arraigned at Wood County Magistrate Court.  Valentine was placed on a $10,000.00 bond by Magistrate Brenda Marshall.  Valentine failed to post bond and was placed in the Wood County Holding Facility to await transport to the North Central Regional Jail in Doddridge County.  More charges are expected against Valentine.  Authorities have witnessed a sharp increase in the amount of heroin investigations in the Mid-Ohio Valley recently. 

 The Parkersburg Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Parkersburg Police Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Vienna Police Department and West Virginia State Police.
