Apple says the nude celebrity photos that have flooded the Internet did not result from a breach of its iCloud or Find my iPhone systems. The computer giant acknowledged that "certain celebrity accounts" were compromised by a "very targeted attack" on user names, passwords and security questions.

Apple's statement said none of the cases investigated were related to an iCloud breach.  The company says it continues to work with law enforcement to track down the hackers.

Apple says it was outraged by news of the theft and immediately mobilized its engineers to discover the source.
