A terror investigation is underway into today's deadly shooting attack in the heart of Paris. The shooting at the historic Champs-Elysees killed a police officer and seriously wounded another.
There are reports that there could have been two gunmen, and one may have been killed. Right now, forensic teams are gathering evidence from a gray sedan at the scene. Evidence markers litter the ground, which may indicate the locations of spent bullet casings.
The Champs-Elysees area includes the Arc de Triomphe landmark, and is the finish of the Tour de France.
The shooting takes place a few days before a presidential election in France. The first round of voting will take place on Sunday. It's a four-way race, and is considered France's most unpredictable vote in decades.
